Pre- or postmodifying adjectives?
This exercise aims at raising awareness of the placement of certain adjectives. The corpus searching is simple, well suited for beginners.
Look at the following adjectives and decide which ones can be used preceding nouns/noun phrases and which ones are used after linking verbs. Use the corpus to decide and to find an example of each (also not that some of these words are not always adjectives).
eventual, aware, occasional, alone, asleep, alive, ready, fond, glad, unable
